review 1: I found this to be a sweet book but also a little mundane. The main idea is that a dog named Homer declines invitations to do different activities because he has his owner and that's all he wants. The illustrations were lackluster as were the words of the book. The simplicity of the story could be good to read to younger children. In the classroom, this book could be used to teach loyalty or importance of loved ones.
review 2: This book is about a dog who decides he is just going to sit on the porch all day. As each member of the family goes past him to do something that day they ask if he wants to come along. I gave this book 4/5 stars. I thought the muted pictures were OK but did not add to the story. I liked that the dog is content because of the family
... morethat he has. I think all kids will enjoy reading about this lovable dog. less
