review 1: Nerd Camp is about a boy named Gabe. His parents are divorced and his father is about to marry another woman. He meets his to-be stepbrother Zach who thinks nerds are "bad and weird". Gabe wants to try to prove to Zach that he isn't much of a nerd and nerds are pretty cool. I recommend this book to people who think they're nerds. Some of my friends and I can relate to this book because I consider myself a "geek".
review 2: Gabe is about to get something he has always wanted, a brother. His soon to be brother Zack is a really cool kid from LA. Gabe really likes Zack but realizes that while Zack thinks it is cool that Gabe gets to go to camp he will not think it is cool if he knows that Gabe is going to summer camp for Gifted Enrichment otherwise known as nerd ca... moremp. At camp Gabe tries to prove his theory that he is cool by creating a list of everything fun he has does at camp. In one column is what he can tell Zack in the other is the more geeky truth. Gabe’s path to self acceptance and the realization that even cool kids have some flaws is to be expected. However this book is full of good laughs and the general camp high jinx remains in the realm of the realistic. less
