The Second Sign
review 1: Gabby lives an untraditional life. She's prone to getting into trouble, and she can see demons whenever they appear. Her brother, Max, is the same way, except he does more good than harm. Not to mention that he seems to stick to the system, something she does her best to ignore. When Gabby's life takes another unexpected turn, she begins to wonder as to what's going on. Demons seem to be appearing right and left, and she also has to contend with Jake's appearance. There's something about him that piques her interest, and makes her want to know more about him. Granted, he's also drawn to her, too, though he'll never admit it outright.Gabby and Jake soon band together in hopes of getting to the bottom of things. Though she doesn't quite understand the feelings he invokes in h... moreer, she's willing to put her trust in his hands. Demons have come to collect her soul, and she refuses to stand by and let them do just that. There's no way she could be what they say she is.Immersing herself in the secrets of her past, Gabby soon realizes she's in way over her head. There's a lot at stake, and she's not sure if she'll be able to deal with everything when the time comes. Still, the mystery of the Second Sign must be unraveled, and Jake's presence is the key to finding what she needs to know and more.A very complex storyline, we're pulled into Gabby's tumultuous life. She's certainly not what she seems. Definitely headstrong, she'll do anything to assert herself in any situation she finds herself in. The Second Sign is a good start to what promises to be a wonderful series, and I look forward to what's to come.
review 2: Man oh man, oh man!!! This was so damn good!! I have to say that if you don't like violence and gore this probably wont be for you. It is very violent and at times I had to take a break from it. Its pretty descriptive. But this was well written and drew me in right away. This is about angels and demons, instalove and a series of murders. I really like that Abby knew who and what she and her twin brother were. There wasn't a long drawn out history lesson. Yes she was in the dark about things but they are pretty much the same questions you have have already asked yourself. I loved Jake. Wow is was a great hero. But the ending it tore me up. I wouldn't call it a cliffhanger but I wasn't pleased. Of course that just made me wish that I had book two on hand. I'm hooked. less
