review 1: I admit that I judge a book by it's cover and this one is gorgeous! The cover alone made me want to read it! Cover aside, this book is AMAZING! I love regencies and this one is unlike any regency that I have read! Sophie literally drops into Theo's lap and their adventure begins! There is mystery, swoon worthy kisses, sizzling chemistry and action that leaps off the page at you! If every book by Hanbury is like this, I will be reading all of them! It was a page turner from the beginning and held my attention throughout the entire book. The pace was perfect and had just the right balance of romance, action and intrigue! If you want a regency with depth to its characters and romance that you can feel, then A Bright Particular Star is for you! I will be acquiring mor... moree Hanbury books shortly because I cannot wait to discover what else she has written!Rating: Clean romance, no swearingI received a complimentary copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions expressed are my own.
review 2: I found A Bright Particular Star a breath of fresh air. I was swept back to 1817 and loved every moment of it. I liked how Sophie is fun and impulsive and speaks her mind. I was cracking up throughout the story. What a fun read. I like the mystery in the story as well as the relationships. I like how Theo was gallant and Sophie drove him crazy. I also like how loyal Sophie and Olivia are to each other. Those girls had suffered much. Now Luc I was not sure what he was about. I just felt like I could not trust Perry. Ms. Hanbury pulls the reader along with vivid details and I felt like I was watching a movie. I felt like I was there. I have discovered a new author and want to read more from her. Overall a brilliant read.Just FYI this does not contain any sex or swearing and only contains minimal violence. less
