review 1: I read this book because I was giving it to someone who asked for it for Christmas. Since I used to live in Salt Lake City very near to where Smart was kidnapped, I was fascinated with finding out more about how she survived her horrible ordeal. She's done some great outreach for those who have lived through abductions and abuse. This is ghost-written, but it's an interesting (and horrifying) story. review 2: Elizabeth Smart is an incredible woman and I so admire the work that she is doing. This story is told in a very controlled way, but I think it is her prerogative to tell her story in any way she wants to. I have enjoyed seeing her interviewed. She is poised, articulate, and confident. I think a huge key to her strength is her family and they courageous way... mores they have helped her move on and build a good life. less
