review 1: I started reading Promises Hurt not knowing anything about the book, and I quickly found myself not wanting to put my kindle down. Promises Hurt by Elle Brooks was such a touching story of friendship and love. You start out devasted, then you life is good. You fall in love, and then you are crushed. Elle Brooks takes you on a ride you will never forget. Blair and Ethan will remain one of my favorite teenage love stories of all time. They were two polar opposites who come together by chance to form the perfect whole. Blair was overcoming the death of her best friend and loss of her father. Ethan was battling an abusive father at home. They both find comfort with each other in over coming their emotional battles while falling passionately in love. Just as you are ready ... morefor their happily ever after, BANG, the book ends and you are left utterly crushed by the devastation. The ending is the only reason why I give this book a 4.5 and not 5 stars.
review 2: I was given a copy of Promises Hurt by Elle just because she's awesome!I just finished the book and I'm so eager to read Forgotten Promises. I want it, I need it!Wow! I wish there were more stars to rate this book!I loved the way Ethan and Blair loved each other, that was such a sweet and pure love. But that dad of his! Oh man! Who does this to his child?! Elle got me laughing, got me to hold my breath in expectation and brought tears in my eyes with the 'shaving heads' part. This is 'that book'... the book that makes your heart ache, splits him into pieces and brings it together in one again! Oh, and I do, I really do love stories that are written in both POV's!I need to read Forgotten Promises, like NOW! less
