review 1: This works fine for a free read, but I actually bought it off Amazon for a buck, so cheapskate that I am, I'm inclined to be a bit more critical. Given the small but noticeable blow to my wallet, I felt it did not commit to either the supernatural plotline, which really was just a set up, or the BDSM, which was pure fluffy fantasy--in this instance for an overworked executive on vacation in New Orleans. It made the story more bloodless and inconsequential than it would have been if the author had been more invested, especially since Carrington clearly can write a good sex scene.
review 2: Well written and just enough erotica to keep it the right side of pornography. Character driven with no padding to slow down the story, a nicely laid out plot with small pa
... moressages of information and back story that didn't distract from the flow and pace of this short work of fiction. All in all this was a nice piece of fiction that hits the mark, pitched correctly at its intended audience and more superior to the novel with the word 'Fifty' in its title.Ms Carrington has written with great care and attention to detail although I wasn't sure we needed all the information about Sean, especially the mention of an accident, but no details, which led me to think the accident had occurred during a session with Nathan, which made it slightly sinister at that point, the reason for my four star review rather than a five.Would I read more from Ellis Carrington... Yes. less
