review 1: Every book that I pick up by Elyssa Patrick, leaves me feeling where did the time go. And Four Weddings and a Break Up swooped me up into its tale and I loved every minute of it. Ginny Michaels was pestered into a bet, a dare, from her sister, cousin and friends. While in Atlantic City for her cousin's bachelorette party - she spots Mr. Dangerous aka Wes Dalton across the room at the bar. After spending a majority of the night staring at him, she finally gets up the nerve to go up to him and talk. What she did expect was the instant chemistry with him leading to a little risky business out in the alley in the rain.Mr. Dangerous tells her, thanks for the fun...see ya. That is until the next day at the grocery store back home, who does Ginny run into..dum dum da....MR. DANGE... moreROUS!! The only problem. He doesn't remember her (ouch). We find out that Ginny is known as the town hero (which she totally doesn't see herself as) and Wes is in town trying to mend his past with his family. He has a short amount of time he will be in town and has been home for not even 5 minutes before the nosy neighbor is trying to set him up on a date with her daughter. Ginny is constantly being set up by her mother and just wants to be left alone. So an agreement is made - fake date for the summer. Why not? I must say that the chemistry between Ginny and Wes is AMAZING. They both have their problems, but that's what draws them together and makes them even stronger. They both find out that maybe its ok to let someone in.This was a cute, fun story with an underlying mystery storyline, that kept you on the edge of your seat. A great read! 4.5 stars.
review 2: Sweet and Sassy Romance from a New to Me Author, Elyssa Patrick. Let's just say that this romance starts out with a 'Bang'...No, I mean literally....hee heeWes Dalton...Tall, Dark and Handsome...nothin wrong with that...accept when he was the "One Hour" stand you had last night, and he happens to be spending the summer in your town...so much for never seeing him again...Poor Ginny! But I totally enjoyed the insta-attraction between Wes and Ginny, and the "little white lie" they planned to save Ginny from her mother playing "The Bachlorette" with her daughters love life.Speaking of, the secondary characters were so much fun, from Ginny's mother and sister, to Wes' brothers (hunky), and Lois, the town gossip. Makes you want to find Cape Hope and stay for a while!Plus, any book with a Bakery as a main focus point can ALWAYS keep my attention! Check out this new Contemporary Romance if you like your romances to be fun, sweet with a little mystery! less
