review 1: Wow. What a fantastic book. It was an incredibly quick read, but I could feel all of Cass' confusion and grief as if it were my own. At first I was worried that switching between the past and present with each chapter would be distracting, but it was just what I needed to prolong what felt like too short of a story. While some of the secondary characters are lacking in depth, it kind of works because it's from Cass' point of view, and even she knows her perspective is skewed. A great coming of age type story that manages to handle heavy subject material with poignancy, honesty, and a dash of humor.
review 2: This book was not at all what I expected and I consider that to be a good thing. It meant that I could enjoy going on a journey with Cass to figure who she
... more was and what she believed in throughout the story. I was captivated by how one journey could change someone's life even though it meant enduring various life lessons along the way. Cass felt authentic as she learned about friendship, forgiveness and letting go of past regrets. This story was beautiful and I would recommend it to anyone who wants to get lost in a good book. I loved it. less

Be warned: this book is incredibly difficult to put down. Impatiently waiting for a movie adaption.

Sweet and sad and lovely with an earned happy ending. Deals with grief very well.

Some poignant parts, but nothing made me care about the story or the characters.
