review 1: This book started slow, but covered critical background into Adam Brown. I am not drawn to the spiritual aspects that the book heavily leans on, but they are obviously important to Adam Brown's personal story. I sat down to read a chapter or two in my second reading session and suddenly found myself riveted to the book until I finished it, wiping away tears as I concluded the last chapters. I am always a fan of stories where the hero overcomes serious weakness to demonstrate excellence, and Adam Brown's story fulfills that theme. His personal sacrifice is one to read and remember.
review 2: This was one of the ten best books I've ever read, without a doubt. I loved getting to meet, in this book, an ordinary man who struggled with an ordinary, but major challen
... morege, and rose to great and ordinary heights. From Adam's struggles with drugs to him joining the SEALS to his joining DEVGRU. I loved how Adam never left his wife for someone else and how he wrote several letters to his wife and children in case he died. As you will find out in the first chapter, Adam does die. However, his legacy and story are unlike any other and I guarantee this is one book you will want to read. less
