Assignment
review 1: A silly romp featuring two GFY cops who go undercover as a couple. The detective work - such as it is - is nearly forgotten as the pair find themselves in one contrived situation after another, tailor made to push them along in the physical side of their relationship. The story is told in third person though the eyes of Nick who is straight and has recently realized that he in love with his straight partner Sean. He spends the book convinced that the desire is one-sided and that everything that Sean does is because of their assignment or out of friendship. Since it is obvious to the reader that a guy who didn't return his interest would behave in the manner that Sean does, the angst quickly got tiresome. Still it was a fun read.
review 2: This is my first M/M
... morebooks. It seems a bit strange at first. It uses the concept of "I know you don't love me, so I will not tell that I love you". In this case, they both don't want to destroy their friendship.Valenti is a brooding type while Sean is very sweet. Sean gives him a LOT of hints, but Valenti still doesn't get it.I've read Kindred series of Ms.Anderson. This book is funny, but not so much actions. It's an easy short read. less
