review 1: Took me a little bit to align myself with the flow of the writing but once I did I really enjoyed this. Personal preference would have kept the multiple POVs but not the first person part. The creepy parts were creepy enough that reading it at night, alone was a little...well, creepy. Which was really nice, I have a hard time finding romantic horror stories that I actually consider horror, though I couldn't really explain to you how something gets designated as horror in my mind vs just "bad stuff happens". :) And I enjoyed reading the little bits of the MCs together - watching t.v. together, sleeping together (no sex, just sleeping), little things like that, were probably my favorite part of the story.
review 2: While I am picky about mysteries and usuall
... morey limit my self to Doyle and Poe in that genre, I began reading this in support of a friend. I found that I put all other works, including a true favorite of mine, aside to keep up with the characters in this book. While i could nit-pick on personal views, I find none of that matters since the story over-shadows any small points in it's ability to keep the story driven as the reader delves into the plot. the back-and-forth first person narrative of the story reminds me of my early novel days of Stephen King (which this novel also renewed). I look forward to more of Mr. Feeley's works as they come out, regardless of genre. His ability to weave a story in his freshman novel proves he will someday be a master in his own right. less
