review 1: A Walk Through Fire is a story of two very unlikely people who come from two completely different worlds who meet, one leaving a past behind the other a marriage.Asher Davis is a very high power attorney that harbors such an unhappy youth being abused as a foster child and running away and leaving his foster brothers behind. Dr. Drew Klein a prominate doctor decides to leave his practice and starts a clinic to help abused men and women. In the process his short lived marriage now over he has retreated in his own private world. It is here that the two meet Asher and Drew and the story begins. For the most part Asher is attracted to Drew even through he knows he is not gay but he figures what the hell one night and so be it. That's not the case Ash because as the more and... more more he gets to know Drew the more and more he starts to care.It is Drews's warmth and compassion that draws Asher in the web of feelings that he has never experienced. Along the way there is some drama with the clinic and so together both Drew and Asher will protect what is theirs whatever it takes.
review 2: I received this book from Enticing Journey Book Promotions in return for a fair and honest review. This is a hot yet gritty book that deals with physical and sexual abuse and the scars that leaves, whether visible or not. It is also a love story between someone who has carried around a persona so that he can't be hurt and someone whose life is going off in a direction he never expected. This is not a 'comfortable' book to read simply because our two main leads drive each crazy (and me) with their will they/won't they routine. There are times when they connect and... WOW, they are amazing. When these two get talking about their pasts, it will get you - I guarantee that! But then one or both of them will do something stupid, freak out, push the other away, and we're back to square one.I am really hoping that this isn't a standalone book as there are other characters that I want to hear more about! Without giving anything away, I will say that the ending took my breath away. I had tears pouring down my face but whether or not they were happy tears, I'll leave for you to find out.Well-written, well-timed and a good cast of characters. Recommended for all fans of M/M. less
