review 1: I'm a sucker for trilogies and romance, especially when I'm tired or frazzled. I enjoyed this story more than I did the way it was told ... some pages were well written and brought the characters to life naturally, whilst others were less interesting and took away from what makes this story so sweet. Towards the end Emily started annoying me, which is a shame as she's the heroine. I hope she finds true love so will buy book 2 to find out ...
review 2: Something kept me reading this book but it certainly wasn't the female protagonist nor was it any mystery surrounding the plot. I don't like books, like this one, where the upcoming 'twist' is so easy to pick out from early on nor where the characters do pretty inexplainably stupid things. The female protagonist
... moreis weak and uninspiring; she drove me mad. The ending is very unsatisfying; you're left with unfinished business which sometimes is fun to imagine away but not when it's everything! None of the plots wound themselves up to provide any satisfaction. I don't know what kept me reading until the end; maybe I was hoping that the ending would improve the book but alas, it's only a two-star affair. less
