review 1: this is a pretty good short story with alot of different ideas and characters fused together. it takes one really out there warped imagination to end up writing something like this so i would say well done to the writer on that one. the whole thing flows very well and i would say it is definetly worth having a look at it.i have to wonder what would happen if the author wrote a full novel, could be very interesting
review 2: Part B-movie and mostly satire with a heavy dose of subtle sarcasm, Alien Invasion of the Zombie Apocalypse by Ford Forkum actually does have a nicely coherent and somewhat more complex plot than you might think. It's incredibly entertaining (read: hilarious) for the half-hour or so it takes to read it. As promised, it does indeed give us al... moreiens and zombies, as well as vampires and humans all jumbled up together in a giant mess. I rolled my eyes at some parts (okay, several), but really, you can't help but be pulled into the adventure, and Ford was even nice enough to toss in an obligatory romance of sorts (coupled with a tragedy, of course). Is there a happily ever after? Sort of. And not. Depends on who you happen to be rooting for when you get to the end. If you need to get over a rough work day or just want to escape reality and embrace the absurd for a little while, grab your favorite teddy bear, a fermented beverage and this short story for a quick head trip that will leave you dazed, but not necessarily confused. As a point of disclaimer, I am digitally acquainted with Ford, and thus unabashedly biased because I like the guy. And I will absolutely be waiting for his next work, hard liquor and zombie baby at the ready... less
