review 1: I really liked this book a lot. Like others have said it didn't focus on fighting or training but was a lot more about his life and this thoughts. There is so much humor spread throughout that you know each time you pick it up you'll get at least one good laugh. The one part I disliked was when he talked about beating up a "nerd" for an extended period of time. I know that portion of the book was there to teach a lesson (not that you should beat up nerds) but it just kept me thinking to myself that Forrest was probably a bully, which I dislike.
review 2: Forrest Griffin has been one of my favorite MMA fighters since the day I fell in love with the sport. So when I found out he had written a book I jumped at the opportunity. Forrest Griffin is a certified “bad
... moreass” on and off the ring. Not conforming to what is acceptable in the book world, Forrest writes what he wants to write. “Got Game?” is the ultimate book for men, not just for fighters. The book goes in depth and takes you into the mindset of Forrest Griffin. From his earliest fight, which take place underground to a UFC title fight against rampage Jackson. Forrest as he explains in the story has always been a troublemaker. And with a warped mindset of pain, he was a shoo in for MMA. He describes one of the most crucial features in MMA in his mindset. Forrest believes that in order to win a fight you must go in they believe that it is a life or death situation not just a competition. Because of this forest believes great MMA fighters such as Wanderlei Silva, are so successful. Forrest griffin an Ohio native bares all in his novel. I enjoyed this novel because it was easy to read and also relatable for young adults. Though Forrest Griffin is not a critically acclaimed writer with a high vernacular, he gets his point across in a simple manner. If your are a young adult looking for an enjoyable read that will leave you bursting with laughter, “Got Fight” is the perfect book for you. This book is meant to be taken humorously not literally. less
