review 1: I enjoyed this book. It would have got five stars if some parts would have been trimmed down a bit. The sometimes very tedious storys about the fantasy lands slowed it down - especially when there was no recollection to the real world.I also did not enjoy that the main character Elsa, seemed to scream her way through out the book. She is a clever, thoughtful child, but the thousands of exlamation marks whenever she spoke made me quite breathless.But it summary. It is a fun, lovely, smart, curious book about a girl following her grands ma's last wish to beg everyone of forgiveness.
review 2: On the cover of my book there’s a review quotation stating ”a crossover novel for all ages, between ten and hundred. By those it will be loved.” I can understand that ... morenow - ”between ten and hundred”. This book is all about stories, and one one hand I loved the stories and their geniality and felt I must tell these stories to my own future children, and on the other hand I felt from time to time that the book and the stories became a wee bit too childish for me. That would be my only criticism of this book. In my opinion, Backman has done it again. He has produced a feel-good book, with a story that captures you, that touches you, and stays with you for a long time after you finished reading the book (ok, I admit, I only finished reading it about a week ago). I’d definitely recommend this book, just as I recommend Backman’s book about Ove. Beautiful! less
