review 1: Having loved Vexing Voss, I dived right into Reality Bites. Bree is fierce warrior of Earth First where evil aliens (Tai Kok)attack and kill humans &Coletti. Bree is half Coletti with psychic powers-healing,telekinesis, & mind reading to name a few. Jaylan is a Coletti commander/ hunter that has claimed Bree as his mate, but she is not having it. She tries everything-loved the stink bombs and manure- to escape Jaylan, but he invades her mind & thoughts. They discover Bree is granddaughter of the Coletti Overlord Zarek-her father Thor was Zarek's son. The overlord helps Bree and Jaylan who get marooned on a hostile planet where Bree picks up some unlikely stowaways who she adopts.RB ends with Bree and Jaylan's mating ceremony that gets cut short by another alien attack. R... moreB ends on a little cliffhanger but you do get their hfn. My only issue was it was the main relationship/"romance" was a little rushed. I would have liked to have seen more buildup between Bree and Jaylan- 3.5/rounded to 4*.
review 2: I love discovering new authors and Gail Koger had a pleasant surprise for me.I really found myself enjoying this book. I liked the heroine Bree, she was funny and self assured. The world that Gail created is an amazing one that I cannot wait to hunt up the other books in the series.I would have liked Jaylan to be more assertive, Bree kind of stole the book with her antics.Great read I am on to find book 1. less
