review 1: This book really struck a chord with me. It was beautiful, witty, heartbreaking and euphoric. Throughout the book there were moments that made me laugh out loud and times where I could barely read through the tears. I found myself totally absorbed and the further I read the faster I was turning the pages to see what happened next. After finishing the book I was left feeling uplifted but totally bereft. One of the best books I've read in a long time.
review 2: I'm inclined to think that I award many a 4 - 5 stars to the books I've read because I generally do a decent job at choosing ones I know I would enjoy reading to begin with. The Universe Versus Alex Woods, however, proves its excellence much despite the idea. I cannot give enough credit to its worthiness f... moreor its humor, compassion and sheer brilliance. Falling in love with a book cannot be better justified. less
