review 1: I liked the idea of the story - vampire loves human, human dies mysteriously, and centuries later vampire meets an ancestor of lost love that looks just like the former. Lay way for possible reincarnation plot point. The writing itself wasn't bad. I've certainly read a lot worse. However, most of the voices felt flat, totally scripted, and devoid of any spark that would fully connect me to the story. It also flowed rather slowly and failed to provide any "aha," "wow," swoon, or "wtf" moments... Again very flat. Btw... I really hate it when a character is meticulously described a certain way in a book ( in this case, big boobs and wild, dark, curly hair) and the cover is a complete contradiction. I went forward with the second book out of curiosity about the reincarnation e... morelement and the horrid cliffhanger, which was actually the only gasp moment of the book.
review 2: Well this was a free download but I can't wait to get the rest of the series. I love vampire romances and I loved the idea behind this story. Aurora and Jessie are the kind of sweet couple who fall madly in love but feel connected before they even know why. Regardless of Jessie being a vampire Aurora feels like she is safe and falls for him. The story has a few twists and turns but kept you reading, it's a quick read but I now need the rest of the series so I can find out if they get their HEA. Would recommend for paranormal lovers. less

Well, that wasn't that bad. Not overly-good, either. A bit repetitive, reminds me of Twilight.
