review 1: This book was amazing, and it didn't have steamy sex in it, rather brutal mentioning of rape it tells the story of Meggie and Andrew, two people who were born on different continents but overcome time and distance with their gifts of seeing each other and things in the past, present and future. The cover might be deceiving, as it is no highland romance novel. It partially plays in the highlands to tell Andrews story, his part in the battle on the moors of Culloden, the aftermath and consequences the highlanders faced that survived. Maggies part is told by herself, from her childhood onwards till she meets Andrew. I don't want to give too much away. It is a sweet, painful and powerful read.
review 2: I am highly recommending this book to all Outlander fans. Thi
... mores is one of my favorite reads of the year so far. I loved the blend of Scottish and American historical fiction, as well as the romance building between Maggie and Andrew under the same sky. The book is emotional, action-packed, and just sweet enough. I only wish the series were going to continue following Maggie and Andrew's story - but it looks like we get to hear about other characters in the next book. less

Though the story was well-written, it was just way too gory for me.
