review 1: Picked this one up accidentally because of George R.R. Martin being connected to it. He did not, in fact, write any of the stories but the foreward he wrote was fascinating, inspiring me to give the stories a try. Some were good, some ok, a couple were really good, and one, I'm sorry to say, I just had to skip, but if you like sci-fi - especially stories about the little red planet, then be sure to give this anthology a try.
review 2: I had hopes of "old mars" like stories that I enjoyed reading 50 yrs ago. Not the case. The writes are young and their ideas are newer than mine, well written and edited but just not for me. I did find one that I feel in love with from a writer I did not know, SHOALS, by Mary Rosenblum.This story I give 5 stars . It had all I was ... morelooking for in a story about Mars, something not all could see in a martian race long gone or not. less
