review 1: What i enjoyed about this book most was it covers a man who is known to baseball fans, but only by name and team. I also liked how it connects players of the 1930's through the 70's since Stan came up in the 40's and played through earily 60's . To be associated with players who were the gashouse gang , through intergration, to curt floods challenging the reserve clase makes this book a good read for any baseball historian.
review 2: On a personal level, I love that this book has helped me connect with my Pop who favorite player has always been Stan Musial. This book showed me what a truly humble and talented man Musial was. I only wish that I had read this while he was still living that I might have appreciated him more. The baseball of Musial's generation is
... morelight years away from what we know now. Very interesting and well written book. less
