review 1: I liked that fact that the main character was a BBW, however, I would have liked for Frankie to be more self-confident. It seems that she was always down on herself about something involving her looks. Who cares what society says you should look like? I also liked the fact that whatever their "Thrall" ate, is what their blood tasted like to the vampires. That was a pretty cool idea. Also, the three different vampire "Houses" with different powers was intriguing. I thought the plot was interesting but there was just something missing. I can't quite place my finger on it, but I felt that I could have really enjoyed the story a lot more. Maybe it was just the delivery...but it was still a decent read.
review 2: Neck Deep in Trouble is a great vampire romance story... more. Romance is not the main focus though. The story mainly focuses on Frankie being turned into a vampire and how she deals with it. Also the story spends a lot of time on how this new vampire world works, etc. I didn't have a problem with this. In fact I actually enjoyed this particular vampire world. I am just taking note because I typically don't like serial stories like this. And really the only reason I am going to give this series a chance is cause I really like Georgette St. Clair's shifter series so I am curious to see where she takes this vampire series.Neck Deep in Trouble does have a HEA...for now. The ending leaves the story open for a continuation. I am all for series...when it is a new couple for each story. I am definitely getting the impression Frankie will be the main feature in the next story too. So yeah like I mentioned above this type of serial normally isn't my thing but I did find Neck Deep In Trouble quite fascinating so I will give it a chance. But if the author decides to have Frankie switch lovers like socks I am so out of here. less
