The Squire's Tales
review 1: Not my favorite in the series. It was considerably dark and I didn't really care for the side trip to the byzantine empire. I was looking forward to spending more time with Terrence, but I missed Gawain and the story felt more like prep work for the final book. So I look forward to the next one in the series, but the whole setup of The Squire's Quest fell a little flat to me. Not the worst book I've ever read, but I expect a lot more from Morris.
review 2: I loved the first eight books in this series. I finished this yesterday and am now in the middle of number 10...and they are a bit sadder and more cynical. Terence is back in center stage and now a stranger night named Mordred shows up. Since I am going to assume that most of us have read lots of stories
... moreabout Arthur and the Round Table, you probably know that Mordred is Not a Good Person. The earlier books were more sprightly, but I am enjoying how Morris brings in new characters, and reintroduces old friends. less

So much is likable about Morris's writing--particularly the humor.

Morris is a great story teller. Makes tales of old seem current!

I didn't like this as much as previous books in the series.
