review 1: Read this at the suggestion of the author, based on my interest in Vince Flynn and others of his ilk. Thought it was a good first effort, but very uneven and with a plot that was a little too easily predictable. Had some good backstory on some characters, but this could've been developed even more. Certainly a plausible scenario and definitely a page turner. There were also a lot of typos in the Kindle edition which detracted from the read. Nice to see one of the characters be a Cornell grad. Enough here to get me to read the second book, but I hope to see a little more depth and a story that makes me wonder what might happen next.
review 2: The Watchman of Ephraim introduces us Cris De Niro a billionaire who lost his wife in the twin towers on 9/11. Ten years
... morelater De Niro purchases a anti-terrorism agency to help prevent further attacks from happening. Of course this sets up a series of events that puts his family, friends, and country in danger. This is a promising start to the series. Cris De Niro is a very likable millionare who is willing to go to any lengths to keep his country safe. This book is not short on action. At many times I found myself at the edge of my seat wanting to read on to find out what was going to happen next. A solid ending that leaves you wanting more.A very enjoyable read. A must read for political thriller fans! less
