review 1: I absolutely loved this book. It had a great sense of humor throughout the entire book, which kept me laughing through the whole book. Lex (the main character) had a great sarcastic-teenager tone that made me laugh even harder. The book had very strong roots in mystery, being that the suspense was in just the right places. I couldn't put this book down, with it's sense of adventure and great plot. The plot also contained a few good plot twists that made me love this book even more. I would recommend this book to any comedy and mystery lover, I found it absolutely amazing.
review 2: I just read a book called croak. This is the first book of the croak series by Gina Damico. Gina lives in Boston with her husband and two cats. She grew up on Syracuse, New York and
... more received a degree in theatre and sociology from Boston college where she was active in theatre related groups and possibly in those groups she may have found her spark for bloodshed. The main character, Lex, is one very violent girl. She bullies and beats the crap out of her peers. After sending a good number of students to the emergency room her parents decide its time for a different approach…It’s time someone straightened her out. Lex is sent off on a bus to the middle of no where to meet her uncle Mort who is supposedly a farmer but when this dark yet handsome and mean looking man rides up o his motorcycle, Lex realizes something isn’t quite right. In fact the whole town in the middle of nowhere doesn’t seem right. Soon Lexs whole world changes, but is this what her parents had in store? In writing this book, I think Damico was trying to inform the reader that even though troubled kids like Lex can be a handful, they’re not bad kids. Even though Lex hurt all those people and should probably be in jail, she was a really smart girl. She was a good girl but she wasn’t given respect. No one cared to try and talk to her or try to understand her. I kind of relate to that because I was quite the handful when I was younger too. I didn’t send people to the hospital but I was very misunderstood. A lot of kids are. I recommend this book to the troubled youth and young adults. less
