review 1: I've often watched "How To Look Good Naked" and marvelled at how, with some support underwear, body shape conscious shopping, and kind words, Gok Wan helps to rebuild someone's shattered confidence, to the point where they are comfortable to be photographed and walk on a catwalk nude. Before reading this book, I had seen Gok as the ultimate cool kid, expecting that he was the biggest trendsetter in his teen years and probably had success waiting on his doorstep because of his winning personality.Little did I know that between the covers of his book, I would read that he had been an obese, bullied teen and had developed an eating disorder that nearly killed him.Gok's writing style is 'friendlier' than any other autobiography I've read. Having seen him on TV I could "hear" hi... morem in my head as I was reading and it gave me the impression that we were old friends, sitting down for a chat over a cup of tea. Blatantly honest, at times, sad, at times very uplifting (having been raised in an unhealthy home environment, I admired his tight-knot family life) and definitely worth reading.I had admired him as a presenter on his show, now, having read the story of his life, I admire him as the beautiful person he is.
review 2: I was really excited and looking forward to read Gok's autobiography because I think he's so cool, and it was definitely worth the wait! Gok's style of writing is really easy to understand and also, has a way of touching the reader. He writes in a way that makes you feel whatever emotions he's writing about, for example, the part where he talks about his anorexia was really emotional and a little hard to read, because I could feel how he had felt going through that. The way he talks about his family and how much they love and support him was really sweet, and also it was very crazy to hear about some of the fans he's encountered! The only thing I could complain about was that there wasn't a chapter about him and Alan Carr getting together, lol! :D but maybe one day! less

Interesting. Didnt like the recipes but the story was well-paced and I liked the voice.
