review 1: Very emotional read. This story dug deeper and showed the human side that lie beneath the tough exteriors we all view. How what appears to be packaged pretty isn't always as it seems. It really shed light on the many layers that make us who we are, good and bad, and how it usually takes someone else too point out these flaws for us to address them or to just realize that about one's self. I didn't know how it would truly unfold with secrets being let out, meddling mothers who despise their in- laws. It was very messy on the well off and not so well off side. Showed having money doesn't mean you're happy and without problems. Good story, I loved Kerry Ann and was rooting for her to find herself and resolve her inner and outer demons.
review 2: I enjoyed this boo... morek, although at times I wondered why the characters made the choices they did, their actions were consistent with who they were.Too, the plot sometimes seemed bogged down, focusing too much on minor matters, I realized that that is often how we approach life, and it can take something tragic or miraculous to help us wake up and refocus on larger matters.While I kept hoping for a "come to Jesus" moment with both maternal units, that really would have made the story more about them, and continued the sway they had over their children's lives.The discussion questions at the end of the book are outstanding, and I could see them being used in literature, writing, or marriage preparation courses with great success.Overall, I give this book 3.5 stars. less
