review 1: This book is a true gift. I found myself swept away in a bed of raw emotion, drawn in page after page to a story that's both heartbreaking and heartwarming. The Amazing Arden is not the only one held captive, readers will find themselves locked into the saga that unfolds with each chapter. Greer Macallister crafted a mesmerizing story that I didn't want to end. Thank you to Sourcebooks for this advance copy.
review 2: The book jacket read 'Water For Elephants meets Night Circus in The Magician's Lie'...and I was hooked. I loved the story from the first chapter ... set in the early 1900's, famous female illusionist, tortured and loved at the same time. I liked that the story switched from past to present, told all in one night. I was captivated from begin
... morening to end, but I do have to add... that although I liked the ending, I wish it had a little more meat to it! less

Not great, but not bad. Illusion takes a tragic turn. Didnt expect the end.
