review 1: WOW! Okay so I'm still totally loving these books! I can't get enough of Wilson AND Max and their relationship! It's just so messy and crazy and... perfect in it's wrongness because it's the whole teacher/student thing BUT you just can't stop reading or looking away. You keep hoping things will work out for them even with how wrong it is... UGH! I need to go read the third book.... Also, HOLY WRITING GRETCHEN! You have a huge talent woman! HUGE! EPIC! Seriously people, Gretchen's writing flows and while she's really detailed in everything it NEVER felt like I was overwhelmed in the slightest. I can't wait to read more from this talented author on into the future, that's for sure!
review 2: 4.5 StarsWow...I knew this series had potential and I was right. This is
... more the second in the series and it is full of heartache, deceit, and hot love. The author really blossomed with this.It picks up where Almost 18 left off, we get a look inside Max's head and see just how much he loves Wilson. We then jump ahead a few weeks to Wilson's 18th birthday. Max sets up probably one of the best birthday's I have ever seen. But all good things must come to an end. Wilson has felt abandoned her whole life. Left on her grandparents doorstep by a mother who didn't want her. These feeling are always present even if she is unaware of them, she is always waiting to be abandoned again. Max knows how fragile Wilson is and even though he swore he would never abandon her, sometimes life throws us curves that prevent us from keeping our promises. Tragedy and bad decisions leaves destruction in its wake.On a week long trip to Aspen we see Max and Wilson's love and devotion to each other. That these two young people can have a love that is all encompassing. Desires are full filled, lines are crossed and feelings are destroyed. When tragedy strikes, will there love be enough to keep them together? A relationship built on secrets and lies can never survive, or can it? Great second book, I am anticipating seeing what the future holds for Max and Wilson. less
