review 1: A charming, awkward, very honest-feeling portrayal of parenthood. Not being one myself (or having any interest in becoming one), it was the first vignette that sold me on the whole thing, and it was a delightful time. There's one story, of the father hard-critiquing his young daughter's artwork that feels a bit forced (like he maybe thought something mean while looking at her art but never said it but felt bad enough to write about it), but the rest are quite fun. It'd make a great baby shower gift, I think.
review 2: it's funny to see how the topic of parenting is coming up more in comics as cartoonists are themselves becoming parents. it's like the series of star wars parenting comics that jeffrey brown has come out with. slacker guys having to pull it toge
... morether to take care of young children seems a rich source of material. delisle's book was a little slim for me, but i will read every book he comes out with. i love that his children have potato-looking heads. heehee. less

This is just plain funny. It's so wrong at times, but it's also filled with love.
