review 1: I couldn't connect with this book unfortunately, so I don't have too much to say. I do think that the book is missing key scenes. The reader is given partial details of those scenes later on, which makes them feel like a surprise even though they are glossed over. For instance, Rain reconnects with an old high school friend while she's back home. We see the scene where she reluctantly makes plans to go to dinner with him just as friends. Then we don't get anything else on this guy until several scenes later when Colt produces pictures that someone had taken of not just the dinner date, but of a lunch date, and another coffee date as well! In pages and pages between making those first plans and the pictures being revealed, Rain's thoughts NEVER EVEN HINTED that she had spen... moret so much time with him, in spite of the fact that her thoughts did reveal that she could possibly be attracted to him even though she was dating Colt! Oh, and she also knew that someone was following her around taking pictures, and in a previous scene where the guy had just shown up, she was afraid that someone would take pictures of them together. What changed so much that she was no longer worried about pictures? We are never told. That's just one example. There were a couple of big ones like that and several more smaller ones throughout.Audio version - I listened to the audio version of this book. The narration is excellent, but there was one small problem. At least once a chapter a line would be repeated. I think this was a production issue, but it did get annoying because it happened more than just a few times.
review 2: Bought this months ago and finally got to read it :)Rain is the only girl in a rock band and is on tour when she gets a call from home which changes her life.She returns home to the life she ran away from years ago and her estranged family. They are brought together by tragedy but this turns out to be a beautiful healing process for this family.Colton is in the band with Rain and he is in love with her and will do anything to be with her.Can she see past the friendship and allow herself to find love with Colton? less
