review 1: This author showed some promise but there was too much time devoted to the main characters working out that yes they are attracted to each other and that yes omg they do love each other followed by freaking propose to her already! I would also love to know why the property was so desirable (I'll admit that I wasn't paying close attention anymore by the end) and some time in the story should've been devoted to meeting the mother that was causing so much trouble.
review 2: It's a whole new ton in Chills. Call it ton-light. Many if not most of the pesky rules the aristocracy live [and die] by in the myriad other regency novels are out the window in Chills and it doesn't make for better reading. The 'rules' - rightly or wrongly because who really knows - that gover... moren this tight little society and that we have come to expect are also infinitely more satisfying than the near wild west abandon found here. OTOH the characters, while idiotic, are likeable and if that is enough you might enjoy this one. less
