review 1: Within the first few pages of reading Redheads Are Soulless I was completely hooked. Heather M. White has a way of writing that captivated me, and with the unique storyline with dramatic twists and turns I could not put it down until I was finished. This book really is a great quick summer read. What I loved most about Redheads Are Soulless was the unique storyline. With the young adult paranormal romance genre being completely saturated with endless vampire and werewolf love stories, it is refreshing to find an author willing to try something out of the box. Heather M. White certainly stepped out of the vampire comfort zone and created a whole knew paranormal entity that really seemed like her own creation.I also really enjoyed the story structure of Redheads Are Sou... morelless. Just when I thought I knew where the story was heading, Heather M. White shocked me and took me on a completely different path. This is probably why I couldn’t put the book down. So many things happen that I had to keep reading to see where it all ended up.If you are a looking for a great quick summer read, that gives you a break from vampires and werewolves then Redheads Are Soulles is the book for you. I personally, cannot wait to see where this series goes and I will have to keep my eye on Heather M. White in the future. I give it a 4/5 stars :)
review 2: Redheads are Soulless is a new kind of paranormal romance by Heather M. White. The main character, Sofia leads a difficult life but tries to make the best of things. She has dreams of finishing school so she can flee the small town she lives in where everyone judges her. She longs to make a new life for herself. When Sofia is a child, she witnesses her father become possessed and die. Following his death, her mother turns to alcohol and pain pills to cope. Kids at school are ruthless in their mean treatment of Sofia. They make fun of her for being poor and for having an alcoholic mother. Sofia has no friends until a new student, Jason, takes an interest in her. Just as Sofia and Jason are beginning to develop a relationship, Jason’s twin brother, Robbie, arrives on the scene threatening to kill Sofia. When the three of them move in together things get interesting. Heather M. White’s writing is easy to read and fast paced. The characters in Redhead’s are Soulless are pretty well developed. The plot line contains several twists and surprises and moves along at the right pace. My only complaint with the story is that while we know that Jason, Sophia and Robbie aren’t human, and their unique races are labeled, the book never really explains what these races are and what they do. We see some of Sophia’s powers, but never really get the 411 on what exactly Sophia is. The epilogue hints at a sequel, so hopefully the paranormal nature of Sophia and the twins will be expanded upon.Overall, the book was an interesting and fun story. It’s well worth the read and I’ll be awaiting the sequel. less
