review 1: I bought this book while I was in San Diego. The premise was interesting - a "choose your own adventure" style book. You win $22 million in the lottery. What do you do? Do you quit your job? If yes, turn to page x. If no, turn to page y. Do you help your family? etc. What I quickly discovered is that it takes some ridiculous turns. You end up going back and making different decisions. Once I started having some fun with the book and picking the more ridiculous options, it was better. A fast and fun summer read. If you liked this type of book as a kid, you might enjoy it.

... moreo choose her own destiny. awesome, right?unfortunately, now i see that choose your own adventure only works in a teen genre when we haven't developed belief systems and a sense of reality. although i see why each juncture only allows us to make a decision between two choices (probably for length's sake), life doesn't work that way. most of the time, i found myself between 2 options that would never cross my mind. since the premise is that i've won 22 million dollars and where it might take me, i found myself down ridiculous paths. and like the real choose your own adventure books, you did in unbelievable circumstances of death. this genre belongs in the teen realm. less
