review 1: ‘Seven Exes Are Eight Too Many’ is about Madeleine-Cora (MC) Spencer who ends up on a reality TV show with seven of her exes. She and the opposing team led by her ex, Kent together with his exes have to compete to win a million dollars.Although the plot was interesting and had several opportunities to be funny or thought-provoking or downright competitive, it was a waste. Where do I begin? First of all, there were way too many characters and none of them were properly fleshed out. MC herself is annoying – she’s not particularly intelligent and she has no presence. I couldn’t understand how several of those guys still showed interest in her. She’s boring and only troubled everyone by being clumsy and refusing to eat. I didn’t see her appeal at all. I have no i... moredea how everyone thought she was cold and unfriendly - she was either boring or annoying. As for Kent, he was obviously meant to be the good-looking mysterious guy but he came across as lacking personality and their chemistry was non-existent. Out of his ex-girlfriends, the only one who had any personality was Summer and she was just plain attention-grabbing and annoying – still better than MC though.MC’s exes were mostly forgettable. Aaron was the stereotypical no-strings-attached guy who’s supposed to be charming but the way he kept calling her baby was irritating. Then there’s Mr. Married, Michael, the nice guy Sam, the straightforward Phillip, useless Dean, no-personality Jim as well as Greg. The main problem was the author clearly couldn’t handle such a large cast and for a short book like this, it’d be better to reduce the number of characters and focus on developing them. Consequently I didn’t care about the characters and it didn’t help that from the first page you could tell who MC is meant to end up with. The competition itself was a bore, hence the author missed yet another opportunity to redeem the story. The tasks were nothing new and most of the time, they were just skipped. For instance, the author would tell you that they have to look for something but she didn’t describe the process so what’s the point? It’s all about showing the reader the adventures they go through and how they accomplish the tasks as a team. This would have been a fantastic chance to depict the characters bonding or learning more about each other or for MC to realize her mistakes (and vice versa). It was also ridiculous how MC and Kent could cheat by using their blinking as a code to each other. Seriously, it was unbelievably stupid.Despite the interesting title with a promising storyline, it failed to deliver all of its possibilities.
review 2: This is the first time I have read a book by Heather Wardell.. Will not be the last... Her latest novel.. Seven Exes Are Eight Too Many.. is a an awesome romantic comedy...It had me laughing out loud and I cried a few times...Loved all the Characters.. but at times wanted to smack MC she was so difficult to relate to.. I do not watch reality TV so this was a leap in the dark for me... so happy I took the leap.. Will not give the story away detest spoilers.. If you love a good romantic comedy this is the book for you.. and if you want to know what happens read this book I can assure you.. you will not be disappointed less

I really thought this book was not going to work but the author did a great job of writing it.
