review 1: Three paranormal romance short stories. Sadly, they got worse as the book went along. The first story was OK. It suffered from the common romance short story problem that things resolved too quickly between the characters (usually not the start for a lasting romance...and this one has to last a looooong time, since vampires are practically immortal), but I can forgive that. Otherwise, the characters were reasonably interesting, with some entertaining secondary characters. The second story featured a male love interest utterly devoid of character. The set up was fine, the two main characters had worked together for 2 years, and she was really into him all that time but never said anything. When they are thrown into close proximity under difficult circumstances, what we find... more out is that he never had any interest in her at all during that entire period. Didn't even really notice her. The author points out on several occasions that his only interest in her was a passing notice because she had a nice rack and a tight skirt. Not only shallow but a jerk. I started rooting for the female main character to find a new love interest!! Finally, in the third story the two main characters are already in a long-term romance, but the female is not happy because they aren't married. That was when I put the book down. The whole story is about how an immortal gets her boyfriend to agree to marriage? Seriously? Not worth my time.
review 2: I liked the characters in "All I Vant For Christmas". It's about Connor and his two siblings who drive him nuts acting like teenagers, & Jillian a events coordinator. It starts with them having a horrible Thanksgiving dinner, and then Connor asks for help with making Christmas better (he wants a nice family Christmas). He gets the name of an events planner and hires her to make his place holiday ready and to plan a Christmas dinner & party. This is a short story so not much time to develop, but needless to say he likes her from the moment he sees her in his foyer. They fall for each other and that's where the story ends. It's cute, funny. She's not sure about him being a vampire and doesn't know much about them. He requires her to stay at his mansion as part of the contract, and reluctantly she does. She even gets some vampires for dummies books to answer some of her questions. less
