review 1: Ambasadora wasn't the book I expected. If you know me, then it's easy to know that Sci-Fi romance isn't in my vocubulary. My brother kept saying, get the book and read it...don't pay attention to anything else. Wow, was he right. The story is filled with action, adventure, human struggle and yes, okay, a bit of romance. (There, I said it!) I was impressed with the world Heidi Ruby Miller created and the people she populated it with. Sara, Sean, David, Simon and others come to life in this futuristic caste based society. The concept of the "going away" party in the beginning of the book hooked me and the bathtub scene couldn't have been more real. I don't want to say much more for fear of ruining your reading experience.
review 2: Qualifier: I know the author.I
... moreenjoyed this this novel, but wasn't enamored with it. It's more of a 3.5 for me. I think my main issue was that I never felt all that close to Sara as the protagonist. I felt like I had a better bead on all the other characters, including Rainer than I had on Sara, when I should have been the closest and most comfortable with her. The world building was fascinating and well done, and certainly, there's potential for many more stories set in this universe. I'd certainly read more of Miller's work. less

Because if I won't give my own book 5 stars, why should I expect other readers to? :)
