review 1: Bast is used to women wanting him for one thing after his ex writes all about his bedroom proclivities. If they aren't chasing him, then they're running in the opposite direction. Kyra's heard the rumors about him and wants to be his only. Instead she agrees to a no strings arrangement, but soon finds out that there are all kinds of strings where Bast is concerned. Bast thinks she will be a one nighter, but there is something about her that he can't resist. There is also a CIA story in the midst of all the Bast and Kyra steaminess. For me it was good, but I was definitely more into seeing what would happen between Bast and Kyra.I give Only 4 hearts!
review 2: 3.5 StarsI was given this book for review off of Netgalley, and unfortunately for me, i realized partia... morelly through that it is book 2 so i never got a chance to read book 1.I try not to read the reviews before i read a book but i cant say i did that with this and unfortunately it made me apprehensive going into this, although i can honestly say, i dont agree with most of the reviews. The main characters are Sebastian (Bast) and Kyra, and the side characters and their story a bit were Wade and Elijah, and though this book is about Sebastian and Kyra i really preferred Wade and Elijah's story. They were gritty and intense and i for one could definitely fall for them if i was given the opportunity to see more into them. Which means i probably need the first book. The minor side characters as well. They are from the first book. Sebastian isnt a bad character but hes a little on the dry side for me. He isnt that intense, which is how i'd prefer my alpha leads but he isnt bad either. He could use a bit more reaction in him rather than smooth even and somewhat monotone throughout the whole story.Kyra isnt so bad either, however she did agree to his terms and went against them at every turn which is a little annoying but on the whole, considering my lack of interest in any female leads, i really didnt find her to be that bad ...I didnt hate her.The sex however is off the charts. Thats really the only place i didnt find it monotone at all. It was so off the charts that i found no reason to even keep my panties *fans self*. They did NOT lack in the sex department, they just didnt have much interesting conversation other than dirty sexy bedroom scenes.This book has potential, and its written fairly, i just feel the author needs to give the characters more emotion. They seem rather monotone in their mannerisms and that lacked excitement for me. But only for Sebastian and Kyra. Wade and Elijah had every emotion and yelled and screamed and fought and i just absolutely loved them. And holy hell their sex was in the next gallaxy ... holy holy !!! it was AWESOME !!I would definitely recommend picking up book 1 before book 2 because you would probably get more out of it than i did. Its unfortunate i wasnt aware it was book 2 until it was too late. less
