review 1: Love the illustrations in this culturally infused book of colors. The colors are luminous and rich in tone. The gold and silver colors gleam. Children will learn more about culture than about colors perhaps, and those from the culture will see a beautiful, contemporary depiction of their culture, of daily life and family.Author Hena Khan is a native of Rockville Maryland, while illustrator Mehrdokht Amini grew up in Iran and she now lives in Surrey England.

... morer to nursery rhymes. Each page represents a color and ties it to something from the Muslim faith. Since there are many books written about colors it only makes sense that this one be written. I would say that like many other books about colors this is written for younger children but would need to have a little bit more discussion due to the fact that most of the items being talked about are not common to someone outside the Muslim faith. less
