review 1: This book was a fast read and really pretty funny. Her epilogue made me cry, especially because my own cat was sitting in my lap at the time. When she described her boyfriend's book, it drove me crazy because I was pretty sure I had read it, but couldn't remember details. After finishing the book, I looked online and found that indeed, I had read his book a few years back. Hers was better.
review 2: I'm only halfway through this but so far, this is the most degrading and embarrassing book I've ever read. And not like "man, this girl is really awkward" in a funny ha-ha way either. I get it, we've all done some pretty dumb and embarrassing stuff before when it comes to relationships. But writing about how badly you let your boyfriends treat you and not doing ... moreanything about it while trying to pass it off as funny is humiliating. Any woman who doesn't stand up for herself (um or smacks that jackass across his face) when her boyfriend "jokingly" introduces her as his "fat pig girlfriend" should reach out for help to boost their own self esteem, not write a book showcasing their insecurities and whine about how men have made them this way when you did nothing to stop them.Not only that, but the author admits that the whole reason she wrote the book is because her douche of an ex boyfriend wrote a book about her. Why are you wasting anymore of your time thinking/talking about this guy if he treated you as badly as you say he did?! This book is not going to make him regret breaking up with you, especially when it sounds so bitter and pathetic. If she's trying to get back at him for writing the book about her, she's making more of a fool out of herself than out of him. Like I said, I'm only halfway through this book. Hopefully this train wreck will get better by the end and I will have ranted for no reason. I got to say it's not looking good though... less
