review 1: Do you like piña coladas and getting caught in the rain? I really enjoyed this book, mainly because the main character Edward is such a sweet soul. Edward is a low key 62-year-old science teacher He enjoys birdwatching, his dog Bingo, his grown stepchildren and mother-in-law, and, most of all, his wife Bee, who is dead of pancreatic cancer. When a man becomes a widower, desperate women beat a path to his door bearing casseroles and innuendo. Edward is not ready for all but he's thrust into the dating world by his stepchildren. They place an ad in the personals on his behalf. No Match.com for Edward, he's old school all the way. After many senior dating misadventures, Edward finds love!!If you're not into yoga, if you have half-a-brain. If you like making love at m... moreidnight, in the dunes of the cape. I'm the love that you've looked for, write to me, and escape...
review 2: I enjoyed this book. Being married and middle-aged, it was interesting to get a perspective on "dating after death." The only issue I had with the story was that I did not have an understanding that two years had gone by before the protagonist becomes involved with someone else. I had to go back and reread a bit, the author does not do a good enough job of portraying the mind-numbing grief Schulyer should be feeling. If his wife was indeed his soulmate, I would think (hope) it would take longer to be able to move on. Short of that complaint, this is a book I would recommend. less

Nothing like I was expecting (thought this would be a light read), but liked it nonetheless.

A short gem of a story, well told.
