Orange
review 1: Orange is a focused story about the lives of a core group of characters. Don't start here - it really should be read from the beginning.Naho continues her attempts to act on information provided by her future self and avoid the tragedy that will plague her for the next ten years. But even with foreknowledge the right move isn't always clear, and is almost never easy...I praised Orange extensively in my review of volume 1, and I am just as enamored with this second installment. We learn more about both time periods and the relationships evolving in the present are wonderfully done. As with the first volume, as good as the story is the real highlight here are the characters. There are all compelling, unique, and feel genuine. It's easy to connect with them and care about wha... moret happens to them, which is absolutely essential for a story like this.I'm not going to get into further detail to avoid spoilers. Suffice to say Orange is already one of my favorites and is well worth reading. Can't wait for more.
review 2: ::Takamiya Naho is 16 when she receives a mysterious but strangely detailed letter from herself, 10 years in the future. Naho thinks it's a prank of some sort until the things in the letter start happening. Including a new transfer student, Naruse Kakeru who sits next to her in class. In the letter, her 27-year-old self tells her 16-year-old self that her biggest regret is that Kakeru is no longer with them in the future, and asks her to watch him closely.::I just found out about Orange the other day and spent all of last night reading everything that has been published so far. Sadly to say it's not nearly enough and the future of Orange is a bit unknown currently. Due to issues with the magazine it was being published in and Takano meeting specific deadlines. Or so I've heard.I will say this: This manga is absolutely one of my favorites ever. EVER. There are only 9 chapters that have been put out but the entire premise of this manga is just breathtakingly beautiful, infinitely sorrowful and just I can't stop obsessing over it. It's just gorgeous and if it happens where it won't be able to be completed then the world will truely be missing out on an outstanding piece of work.I have so many feelings when it comes to this manga. Even in the span of less than 24 hours its kept a tight hold on my heart and I just really really hope that it will continue because it DEFINITELY deserves to continue. If you're a manga fan I urge you, no I BEG you to read this. I promise you won't regret it but you will anxiously await the next chapter ( if there is one. ) :( less
