review 1: I have recently read and enjoyed the novel “When Summer Ends” by Isabelle Rae. The novel’s setting is in England but it does not explain where exactly in England the book was written in. The main characters is Chloe Henderson, the protagonist in the story, who is also the point of view that the book was written in. Other supporting characters is Will Morris, and his brother Sam Morris and Chloe’s best friends, Amy and Nick. I chose to read this book because the blurb of the novel sounded interesting and the novel’s title made me pick up the book and start reading it. The book was mainly about a high school student, Chloe Henderson and she sneaks in to a club and falls in love with a guy, Will Morris. The two hit it off and spend their entire summer hanging ... moreout all the time. However, summer had came to an end and Chloe started her senior year, and in an unfortunate event, her boyfriend ended up to be her teacher. When they both found out, they immediately stopped seeing each other. However, Will becomes very rude to her and treating her like they had never met and she gets hurt by this. They end up getting back together, but keeping their relationship a secret was hard, especially after Chloe’s rival enemy, Erika found out and blackmailed Chloe. Their conflict was trying to keep Erika’s mouth shut or they will get into loads of trouble. When the two get exposed, they slyly had to make up a lie to not get themselves into any trouble. Towards the end of the novel, Will’s job moves to New York, where Chloe’s dream college school is. They end up having a child about 3 years later. I thought the conclusion to the novel was well written but ended so soon in like 15 pages. I found a quote very interesting and very cute and romantic it kept me in awe. It was on page 365, it says “No matter how my parents reacted, it wouldn't matter, Will and I would get through it, we’d get through anything. Together.” I really like this quote because it is so sweet and it just made the story so much more beautiful. I would really recommend this book to anyone who loves forbidden love kind of books. This novel was well written and an interesting, hard to put down kind of novels.
review 2: Editor was obviously sleeping through their job because the amount of spelling and grammar mistakes in it made me want to throw the book at my wall.Story was moderately okay but not exceptional, seems very similar to Slammed by Colleen Hoover in many ways but the heroine was nowhere near as likeable as Layken was. Chloe was such a immature 17 year old that I honestly don't see what Will saw in her. Don't even get me started on that horrible name he calls her 'Cutie' like Ew.Only characters I liked were Nick and Sam, highlight of the story with their amazing personalities and witty charm. Overall I could have gone without reading it and my life would have been no different. less
