review 1: NO SPOILERSThis series was not great, but it wasn't terrible either. Being that I am a huge fan of anything Jim Henson, and specifically The Labyrinth, I felt that it fell short of the standard of awesomeness that I have come to expect from Henson-related media. The story was cute and interesting. It definitely held my attention, but there was a noticeable overuse of lines from the movie. There were also a lot of really bad puns, which I normally enjoy but some of these were real groaners. The art was okay and seemed appropriate to the storyline. But there were times where it was difficult to tell Jareth and Toby apart. If you want to read a graphic novel related to one of Jim Henson's classic movies, I would recommend the Dark Crystal Creation Myths. The artwork is ... morebeautiful and the story really holds true to the mythos created by Henson. If you are a fan of Henson's work or the Labyrinth, the story is still interesting and the four-volume series is a quick read.
review 2: Very hard to rate this series. The first volume wasn't great, but the story got more absorbing as it progressed through further volumes, and it felt like being taken on a fun ride. But, it didn't wrap up well in the end -- there were some loose threads, the end was forced, and throughout all the volumes the whole thing was so busy that it was a bit hard to tell what was going on. Bits: -It was interesting how the creator mixed Labyrinth with Japanese-style characters. -I could have done without the overly large breasts on the female characters (especially the fairy). -I also liked that there are no cut and dry villains. -I didn't like the use of a fat woman as a ridiculous character who eats everything and uses her weight to attack. less

Ablations are key in this final addition to the series. But the ending is not that memorable.

Should never have tried to go for the manga feel. Doesn't work.
