review 1: This book is intriguing, and ironically, there is a charlatan's work in China named Currency Wars too, about the conspiracy theory.I think, from this American book, the government can't be trusted fully. Even in the United States, she has incidence of seizing gold from ordinary people. Gold is so vital, in China, the communist seized gold a lot when it newly established regime in 1949. There is a common proverb of Chinese old wisdom:Hoard antiques when it is peaceful, and hoard gold when it is chaotic. So true, while so hard to realize.

While most of the points are repetitive, it provides a good collection of anecdotes and promptly notes non-financial (like political and cultural) causes of various policies which the so called currency-warring nations adopted. It may be a very bad idea to go by the views of the author in near future, but it does provide a good spectrum of various things to consider when deciding about the future course of action by countries wrt currency management. less
