review 1: I chose this book to read because I needed something lighter. It was. I found it very entertaining, which I had expected; it had been recommended as a book to restore and replenish. At first I was a bit put off by what seemed a frivilous tone to a serious subject; but it had been recommended, so I continued. I am very glad I did. Riess did a good job of not taking herself too seriously, an error I'm afraid I make too often. There was plenty to reflect on, though, and I will be using some of her insights on simplicity in an upcoming sermon series. (By the time I got to simplicity, chapter 5, I could wholly relate!)
review 2: Well I didn't love this book and not every chapter deserves the 4 Star rating. But what really saved this book was the Epilogue. For me, do
... moreing a half-hearted job at a goal each month isn't really grounds for a book. I didn't buy the whole "I tried really hard and failed but I'm still a good person- so buy my book and even if you don't pray every day TAKE HEART!" message. However, the epilogue changed this from a 2.5 star book to a 4 in my opinion. I loved the message that she ended with and if finally made the other chapters feel cohesive. less

A solid 3.5. Lighthearted and funny, but also thoughtful and insightful.
