Asylum – Madeleine Roux
It’s 10:41pm on the 9th of December and I remember that I have yet to post anything.
So, I was reading IT for my last book of 2017 and I have hit the reading brick wall once again for the 11th time with my literature nemesis. For now I have decided to return to return to the trilogy I have recently finished. I absolutely LOVED these books and they have made it into my top 10 favourite books of 2017. Not usually one for book series and did not really realise these were a series when I picked this book up for the 1st time in 2016. Back then neither library I was a member of were able to find the 2nd book in their systems and were not willing to order it in.
I was disappointed when they turned down my request to buy it in when they had the 1st and 3rd book. Didn’t make no sense so I left them. I bought Asylum from my local WH Smiths and enjoyed it even more. So much more that I had to buy the 2nd book right then and there off eBay just before I finished it so that I could go straight into it when it arrived so I didn’t have to wait and did the same for the final book. I then bought the Novellas that followed also.
Now you must understand that I am the kind of person who will scope the charity shops for cheap books than buy new books straight out due to limited funds. But you can see the enjoyment and attachment I felt to these books that I bought them brand new. Of course I did ask my fiancée if it was ok for me to spend money that, to be honest, we didn’t have. But she loves me and lets me buy books when I want to
