review 1: This book is seriously a joke. How in the world did it get all the 4-5 stars? Did I read the same book as everyone else? I don't even care that the story is cliche: - (Supposed) shy, introverted girl has best friend who dresses her up and drags her to parties.- Shy Girl has crush on Hot Guy Who Lives Next Door. - Hot Guy Who Lives Next Door is infamous for being a Dangerous Man-Whore. - Hot Guy Who Lives Next Door also happens to have a crush on the shy girl. - Hot Guy Who Lives Next Door has a clingy girl who is also The Popular Girl. I could go on, but I won't. My issue with this book is that I went through it with a lot of "are you for real" and "you cannot be serious". For example, Colt ignores Olivia and acts like he doesn't know her, AND THEN EXPECTS HER TO CHOOSE T... moreO SIT NEXT TO HIM IN CLASS AND IS PISSED OFF WHEN SHE DOESN'T. Olivia sees Colt in a (staged) compromising position with another girl and automatically assumes they are dating, and then decide to go out with The Jock even though she doesn't like him. Don't even get me started with the end. Actually, I don't even know what to say about the end. I'm not sure if it's a complete joke or what. The only thing I can say I even like about this book is the fact that Olivia actually calls Colt out on his bullshitting mind games. That is the only small redeeming bit this book has for me.
review 2: As a fan of Janelle Stalder's I couldn't wait to get my hands on this novel, and I wasn't disappointed. Colt Morgan is a dreamy guy - and I wish guys had been around like him when I was in high school! Olivia Banks is back home, and she's determined to fly under the radar for her Senior year and then escape as soon as she can. But her best friend makes that difficult, and not to mention, the guy next door - Colt Morgan. Olivia has been watching him for years, and he's been watching her. The tension between the two mounts and even I couldn't wait for them to declare their love for one another! The book is a sweet high school romance that I loved living through these characters! A must read! **Recommended for mature YA or 18+** less
